I forgot to add that I told them that I was going to change her name while they were gone. I thought a lot about what to change it to, and finally settled on 'Princess Gananoque.' I'd used that joke before but it seemed to fit, being a tribute to their alma mater (if only because of geographic proximity) and to both their appreciation of Hayao Miyazaki's work and Laura's heritage. (And Jon's too, of course.)

Okay, what I was really going to do was ask the dog park people to go along with the joke and call Photon 'Princess Gananoque' the next time they saw P or L, but I kept forgetting.

Woulda been funny, though.
