I like the over-the-topness of it. Most of the time. It's fast-paced and jokey and fast-jokey, and every so often I have to catch my mental breath, but that's a good thing.

Gah. Martha Stewart was Jon's interview on the Daily Show last night and I nearly barfed at her plastic/Barbie/1984/clinical hospitality sheen. Very unsettling.

The Colbert report is currently suffering from dry delivery and is a little over the top. I think he may smooth his act out over time, however.

PS, Jeff, sorry I took so long to approve your comment. I'm not used to having to actually look after this blog.

Good lord, man! I love the Daily Show! I was being Byronic. Or something.

And the Cole-bear Re-pore so totally doesn't suck!

I was half expecting it to be a clone of the Daily Show, or worse, a comedy-variety half-hour with no substance and no zazz!

But it's got substance and zazz comin' out its ass! Which could be uncomfortable, but good comedy should be uncomfortable, laughter being an interrupted defense mechanism and all.

What do you think of the Cole-bear Re-pore, Jeff? If you don't like it, lie. How will I know?

What's wrong with the Daily Show? I thought you liked some of the stuff on there. I do find I use the fast forward button a lot.
