The March of Technogoly!

Reid has upgraded me laterally to Word Press.

I say laterally provisionally because even though he has good things to say about WP, I’m a little gun-shy after primitive blogger (not so primitive now, but still a little luddy) and flashy MT with lots of dialog boxes, and then some more dialog boxes.

We’ll see.

And in other Tek Nyooze, [conga_music]Luisa got her gas stove! Luisa got her gas stove![/conga_music]

But she may have lost her computer because her husband likes to fiddle without trained and certified professional support.

I hope they still have the Space Chair come summer. God knows what’ll happen if Reid gets his hands on that. They should at least back it up first.

(Jeezes, Reid, the saving is lickety split on WP, ain’t it?)

Ya, the speed makes it MUCH more attractive to blather on and on several times a day. It’s surprising how much something so seemingly simple as “rebuilding” a site can have such a negative effect on your desire to post entries.

Yeah, I seriously don’t think that MT was tested across the internet during various periods of load and latency. Some of the processes seemed designed to work optimally only if the server was under the next desk and on the same subnet. It seemed like they were trying to emulate an ordinary executable UI for ftp or something.

I mean, separate dialog boxes for “Do it”, “Really do it?, “Doing it” and “Done. Do it again?” Come on, it ain’t an ad hoc desktop app somebody threw together to ream out a database.

    Puh-leeze.

(Ooh, I get to save in WP again…)

    Okay, problem.

I’m logged to this blog as admin and I still have to approve my own comments by email.

    Dumb.

  4. rae Says:

Ya, I should try to fix the approval thing. It’s supposed to only do that for comments with URLs in them (i.e. spam). Okay, I’ve changed the options. Now it should only require approval for never-before-approved authors. That seems like a good idea.

Hey, I think it worked! :-)

Hahahah.. when I tried to post the above right away I got this error message: “Sorry, you can only post a new comment once every 15 seconds. Slow down cowboy.”
